"In
wandering to look for unusual inscriptions, I've often been captivated by
the graininess, striations, or colors on a grave marker. Once my
attention has been captured, I photograph every abstract and angle I can
see. I didn't know there were so many beautiful molds until I began
photographing gravestones. Sometimes a cemetery full of gravestones
and monuments can be a lovely place where one relates more to living things
than to the dead."
