"When I
began photographing doors, I began to notice that doors are as different
from one another as people are. For all but the newer doors, no two
are alike. This is what intrigues me. I love to find and then
photograph all those different doors. Those with age spots and
wrinkles, stains and peeling are especially delightful - just like people
who have similar signs of having lived. I also like younger doors that
have distinctive character, much as I like younger people with character.
Have doors taught me lessons about people, or is it the other way around?"
